The Ram cross country runners competed in the Leon Fox Invitational hosted by Perry at the Perry Golf and Country Club Sept. 27.
“It was a great night for Ram cross country,” coach Jeff Lamoureux said. “I see us getting better and better every meet. As most of our meets have been, this was a tough field of competitors and our kids really rose to the occasion. We have been working hard. Coach Gerhardt and I have really pushing the team at practice and challenging them to compete each and every day. I am extremely proud of their effort.”
The girls placed fifth among 11 teams. Bailey Cunningham finished first of the Rams with a time of 22:19, good for 12th place. Other placements that went into the team score were Haley Hall, 18th, 22:57; Conner Allender, 24th, 23:11; Kassie Lamoureux, 32nd, 23:37; Ashlee Harmeyer, 41st, 24:22; Izzy Bravard, 45th, 24:3; and Regan Lamoureux, 57th, 26:00. Other teammates who completed the race were Tieryn Tucker, Emily Hofer, Kirsten Lamoureux and Emily Bettey
The winning time was 20:22 by Sadie Juergens of ADM.
Team scores in the girls race were Creston 50; Winterset 73; Madrid 114; ADM 118; Greene County 127; Roland-Story 140; Bondurant-Farrar 162; Perry 229; boone 232; Kuemper Catholic 235; and North (DSM) 289.
The boys finished 12th out of 12 teams.
Nic Killion was the first Ram to finish the race with a time of 19:35, in 39th place. Other places that made up the team score were Luis Velaszco, 19:51, 48th; Garrett Tasler, 20:16, 59th; Brian Hardaway, 21:35, 79th; Trevor Lebeck, 22:00, 81st; Josh Ewalt, 25:14, 83rd; and Leo Mizok, 26:11, 84th. Anthony Tolsdorf finished the race in 26:17.
The winning time was 17:51 set by Sean McDermott of Bondurant-Farrar.
Team scores in the boys race were B-F 41; R-S 76; ADM 76; Madrid 78; Winterset 153; Kuemper Catholic 195; Saydel 199; Boone 242; Perry 245; North 254; Creston 278; and Greene County 306.
